I don’t think anyone would think twice about [name_u]River[/name_u] on a boy, but [name_u]Sky[/name_u] might come off as girly. Personally I think [name_u]Sky[/name_u] would be great on a boy. Why not?

I agree that [name_u]River[/name_u] is more of a boys name.

I feel like [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] could work better as a boy’s name than [name_u]Skye[/name_u], mainly because [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] named her son that, so to me it makes sense.

Our neighbor is named [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. He’s 15 and pulls it off admirably. Then again, a sweetheart who plays the sax can pull off just about anything. Because he is so musical, I always associate my neighbor with [name_u]Skye[/name_u] Masterson in Guys and Dolls. I sing the songs to him periodically. He’s never seen the musical.

I like both names, but not enough to use. [name_u]River[/name_u] is all boy in my opinion. It feels more masculine than feminine. I don’t like just [name_u]Sky[/name_u]/[name_u]Skye[/name_u] by itself for a boy. I prefer [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] nicknamed [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. They do sound a bit juvenile to me, but I think they will age fine.

I think [name_u]River[/name_u] is a great name for a boy, but all the Skyes I’ve known are girls.

Yes to [name_u]River[/name_u], no to [name_u]Sky[/name_u]/[name_u]Skye[/name_u].

I definitely say yes for [name_u]River[/name_u] (my #1 boy name at the moment). I don’t think [name_u]Sky[/name_u] can be pulled off by a boy.
