WDYT of the name [name]Robin[/name] for a boy? I’m not really concerned about it being a unisex or “feminine” sounding name, since it is traditionally male.

[name]TIA[/name] :o)
I never thouth of [name]Robin[/name] for a girls since my nephews name is [name]Robin[/name], until my [name]SIL[/name]'s niece was a Robyne. I like them both for girls and boys.
I love [name]Robin[/name] for a boy! It makes me think of a dashing, kind and handsome [name]Robin[/name] Hood!
[name]Robyn[/name] is a girl’s name and [name]Robin[/name] is a sissy name for a boy.
I like this name but for me, it sounds better as a double name like [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Robin[/name]. I can’t even imagine [name]Robin[/name] [name]Williams[/name] going by just [name]Robin[/name] or [name]Rob[/name] or whatever he goes by.
[name]Robin[/name] is one of very few names I think can work as well for a boy as it can for a girl. I think [name]Robin[/name] would be a great, unique choice. I associate the name with [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Robin[/name], [name]Robin[/name] [name]Williams[/name], and [name]Robin[/name] Hood. Not too bad!
I think [name]Robin[/name] would be a great name for a boy, you can use [name]Rob[/name] or [name]Robbie[/name] as nicknames which sound all boy. It is very uncommon so he is unlikely to ever meet a girl called [name]Robin[/name] (or boy).
I really like it, and much prefer [name]Robin[/name] for a boy over [name]Robyn[/name] for a girl. It’s got a beautiful old world, classic, storybook sound to it, without being anachronistic or old fashioned. If our surname wasn’t a double barrel with on-en-en in it, I’d certainly consider it.
I taught a uni undergrad called [name]Francis[/name] and I asked him how that was working out for him, if he ever got teased at school, and he said never. We make all sorts of assumptions about how people will receive names forgetting there will be whole complex interesting human beings attached to the name who for the most part will determine how their name is received anyway.
Once upon a time, [name]Robin[/name] was a nickname for [name]Robert[/name], and then it morphed into a name all its own. I think it’s a great name for a boy, although personally, I do know more girls named [name]Robin[/name] than boys. I think, like [name]Jamie[/name], however, it can be used for either sex. If you love it, then you should definitely use it!
