[name]Hi[/name] - first post here. But I have to ask.
I have a [name]Robyn[/name] (girl) and I’m expecting again and absolutely love the name [name]Reuben[/name] for a boy.
Am I totally off my rocker to name a boy this when we have a [name]Robyn[/name].
I’d love to hear your opinions …

Thanks saracita00 for coming back to me you made some very good points - anyone else have any thoughts?
They are definitely too matchy, not only the same beginning ® and ending (n) but the same middle with the b! It’s only a couple of vowel sounds that show they are different names at all and I just think it would be a) confusing for everyone and b) people might think you are a bit mad!
Names I think could go with [name]Robyn[/name] and might match your love of [name]Reuben[/name]:
[name]Jared[/name]
[name]Byron[/name]
[name]Bradley[/name]
[name]Dexter[/name]
[name]Heath[/name]
[name]Aron[/name]
[name]Craig[/name]
[name]Todd[/name]
[name]Daryl[/name]
[name]Issac[/name]
[name]Randel[/name]
[name]Rex[/name]
[name]Joel[/name]
Maybe you could use [name]Reuben[/name] as a middle name?
I absolutely love [name]Reuben[/name]! But I think the other posters are correct–[name]Robyn[/name] and [name]Reuben[/name] are just too close. I second @marissalou’s suggestion–could [name]Reuben[/name] work as a MN for you?
When I hear [name]Reuben[/name] I think of the sandwich…
Still here - about to pop any day now … guess what … I’m still thinking [name]Reuben[/name]!!
Am I being totally ridiculous!
I think pp are making good comments but if you absolutely love [name]Reuben[/name] that’s really all that matters. I don’t know what [name]Robyn[/name]'s nn is but I’m sure you can find something for [name]Reuben[/name] that sounds different to yell around the house. ([name]Remember[/name] nn’s don’t have to be name related my cousin has two girls that they nn’d , mosquito and flea - it sounds much cuter in [name]German[/name] - muecke and flo - though the concept of those nn’s is a little odd to me. But their real names are [name]Phillipa[/name] and [name]Roberta[/name]).
I think it is too close, sorry. Unless you were to call him [name]Ben[/name]/[name]Benny[/name] as a nickname, I don’t think there’s a lot of distinction between the two. Maybe use it in the middle if you love it that much.
