Roger, Donald, & Elmer

Can anyone help me come up with better, moderized, or just less annoying versions of these names?

They remind me of [name]Roger[/name] Clots, [name]Donald[/name] duck, & [name]Elmer[/name] Fudd.

I have the most uninspiring names on my family tree.

I don’t know if these are any good, but It’s what I could come up with.

  • [name]Rutger[/name]
  • [name]Robert[/name]
  • [name]Rex[/name]

  • [name]Daniel[/name]
  • [name]Dashiell[/name]
  • [name]Donovan[/name]

  • [name]Elijah[/name]
  • [name]Emmet[/name]
  • [name]Emory[/name]

Not bad. I named my first boy [name]Elijah[/name] cause I have had it on my top ten since junior high. Although I probably wouldn’t have picked it had i known how popular it was becoming.

I actually like [name]Roger[/name] and [name]Elmer[/name]. I also have a soft spot for [name]Grover[/name], but even I won’t touch that one.

I’d say [name]Donnell[/name] for [name]Donald[/name] and another tree name like [name]Asher[/name] for [name]Elmer[/name].

I love the name [name]Roger[/name]!
Names that are like [name]Roger[/name]:
[name]Reginald[/name] nn [name]Reggie[/name]

I don’t like [name]Donald[/name] because we had a nasty friend of the family named [name]Donald[/name].
Names that are like [name]Donald[/name]:
[name]Dashiell[/name] - it does start with a “D” and has two syllables.

I don’t like [name]Elmer[/name] either. [name]How[/name] about

Really? I thought that [name]Elmer[/name] was on everyone’s no go list. [name]Asher[/name] is interesting. My little sister [name]Joy[/name] would have been an [name]Asher[/name] had she been a boy. So I’ve been a long time fan but I never connected it to [name]Elmer[/name].

[name]Love[/name] [name]Edward[/name]. Hate [name]Eddie[/name].

[name]Edward[/name] nn [name]Ted[/name], [name]Teddy[/name], and [name]Ward[/name]. I don’t like [name]Eddie[/name] either.

(Granted, they’re not close to [name]Roger[/name]…)

Names that share [name]Roger[/name]'s “warrior” meaning:

[name]Duncan[/name] (although I admit I think of [name]Duncan[/name] Donuts)

Names that mean “noble” like [name]Elmer[/name]:

Good luck!

[name]Ted[/name] isn’t bad. I just have this feeling that everyone would call him ed or eddie.

I like the idea of relating through meaning though.

[name]Edward[/name] can have a nn of [name]Ward[/name].
