[name_f]My[/name_f] SO loves [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] but pn. Roh-Hahn, like in [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings. I however love [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] but pronounced like [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]= Roh-en. Though I think I like the look of [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] better. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you instinctively pn. [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] and do you think there would be issues? Also, which do you like better the spelling of [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] or [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] (or other) for this name (Roh-en) for a boy.
I agree with the previous poster. [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] are two different names. I like [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] better if you want the Roh-en sound. I say [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] like Roh-han.
I love [name_u]Rohan[/name_u]; it’s handsome with a beautiful meaning. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is trendy and doesn’t appeal to me.
While [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] is a legit variant of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], I’d wager that most people are familiar with the Sanskrit [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] ‘ro-han’ and will think you are mispronouncing it. If you want ‘ro-win’ then don’t spell it [name_u]Rohan[/name_u].
Same here. I like [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] but I adore [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/[name_u]Roan[/name_u]. I have [name_u]Roan[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u] on my short list, both names honor family members.
[name_u]Rohan[/name_u], and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and even [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] have different ethnic backgrounds. Perhaps that would put your choice over. And don’t forget [name_u]Roan[/name_u]…the Irish way.
I love [name_u]Rohan[/name_u], more than [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Rowen[/name_u], [name_u]Roan[/name_u], actually. I say it like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but less of a W. Like [name_f]RO[/name_f]-an (maybe a hint of an h) vs. ROW-an.
I love [name_u]Rohan[/name_u]! I might think {ro-HAHN}, but I would always pronounce it {[name_f]RO[/name_f]-in} unless the bearer thereof appeared to be [name_f]Indian[/name_f]. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] are nice too, and offer the NN of [name_u]Win[/name_u] {which I adore}, but neither bring to mind that satisfying mediaeval image, or are as pleasing to the eye : )
