Roll Call in 10 Years (Video)

Has anyone else seen this video?? I thought it was really funny and had some pretty accurate naming trends.
(I did like some names he made fun of, but I don’t think it was offensive…)

I just watched it, and oh my goodness, I talk about that very subject with my sister and with a friend of mine all the time! [name_m]How[/name_m] crazy are some of the names nowadays? And parents think they’re cool, but these kids are the ones that have to live with them! One day these kids will have to put these names on a resume, or on a college application, or on a name badge! Or God forbid, try to get it spelled right on a Starbucks cup! They’ll never find one of those novelty license plates or key chains with their names on them, or even a coke! These poor kids!

Tbh I didn’t see what was so bad about a lot of those names. Many of them were really nice! I understand that I’m probably desensitized it outlandish names on nameberry and my style is different than the greater population (although that that different imo!).

I’m interning at a hospital this summer and it’s actually inspired me to add a lot of new, somewhat strange names to my list because seeing all of these professionals (some of whom have uncommon names) wear their names and wear them well has made me braver.

Also, the whole “finding your name on keychains at gas stations” thing is lost on me. I own maybe 1 keychain with my name on it. I’d rather have an uncommon name.

My friend, whose name was made up by her parents as a combination of their own names, likes her name enough. But she does get very annoyed that she can’t find any souvenirs with her name on it anywhere. And whenever we go to Starbucks, we always check to see just how badly they butchered her name. Her name starts with a D and ends with a -een sound, and the weirdest we’ve seen on a cup was Daboon. Sometimes it’s funny, most of the time, it’s just frustrating for her.

Oh boy, my favourite boys name, [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], made the list

I have a relatively popular name (top 50 when I was born and for much of the late 90s/early 00s) and never get it spelled correctly at Starbucks, never found it on a personalized anything, anywhere, and never found it on a Coke.

I found the video funny but also don’t see anything wrong with the names listed.
