I have a son named [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] and am pregnant with 2nd baby. We are considering the name [name_m]Rollo[/name_m] for a boy, after the Viking ruler of Normandy. Thoughts? Backups right now are [name_m]Leif[/name_m], [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] or [name_m]Wulfric[/name_m].
Rollo works well with [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]! It does remind me of the chocolate caramel candy, [name_m]Rolo[/name_m], but I don’t know if it’s popular everywhere. Of your other choices, I really like [name_m]Leif[/name_m] with [name_m]Ivan[/name_m].
I think immediately of the [name_m]Rolo[/name_m] candy (I’m American, if it matters), but [name_f]Candy[/name_f] itself is a name, so I see no issue! I say if you love it, go for it. I also think it goes well with your other son’s name.
(I do also really love the name [name_m]Leif[/name_m], so my vote is for that as a backup.)
Hmmm. I think of candy. Really not a fan of this name as it doesn’t sound like a name. I’d go w [name_m]Lief[/name_m]! Really love that w [name_m]Ivan[/name_m].
I think of candy immediately but I really like the meaning behind it! I also love [name_m]Leif[/name_m]!
I think it’s handsome and works well with [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]!
Ahh it’s so cool! It was my [name_u]Nana[/name_u]’s brother’s name but they didn’t get on well so it’s not on our list. I say go for it if you love it!
Very Viking combo with both [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] and [name_m]Rollo[/name_m]. I absolutely adore the name [name_m]Ivar[/name_m], which is obviously very similar to [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]. [name_m]Rollo[/name_m] is not my personal taste but it works with his brothers’ name.
How do you feel about [name_u]Valo[/name_u]? It is the Finnish for light…I’ve always liked that.
I also like [name_m]Stellan[/name_m]
In the UK, there is a brand of caramel-filled chocolates named [name_m]Rolo[/name_m], which was my first thought. I prefer [name_m]Leif[/name_m] and [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] myself.
I do think of the sweet but nonetheless, it’s a very cool name
Welcome and congratulations!
I really like [name_m]Rollo[/name_m]. It’s lively and fun but feels like a very old soul kind of name, similar to [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] in that regard. Your other choices all suit this feeling really well too. I particularly like [name_m]Leif[/name_m] and [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] – [name_m]Wulfric[/name_m] is super cool but strikes me as quite a brave choice! I think I’d prefer just [name_u]Wolf[/name_u] or maybe even [name_m]Wolfram[/name_m].
You have very similar taste in names as a friend of mine She has an [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], Tych0 and T@ran. Wondering if [name_m]Tycho[/name_m] might appeal to you as well?
Good luck
I immediately think of the candy, sadly. [name_m]Wulfric[/name_m] goes well with your first sons name! : )
Where is your [name_u]Nana[/name_u]’s family from? It’s such an uncommon name, I’d love to know more about who has used it. What was your [name_u]Nana[/name_u]’s first name?
They were english settlers in NZ! I just asked and [name_m]Rollo[/name_m] was actually J0hn R0land nn [name_m]Rollo[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_u]Nana[/name_u] was 0live [name_u]June[/name_u] and went by [name_u]June[/name_u] (their father was 0liver and their mother was [name_m]Ad[/name_m]@)
