Roman & Athena

DS is [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and DH and I really love [name_f]Athena[/name_f].

I think the 2 together fit our style but border being themey. I think I am OK with that. [name_m]Roman[/name_m] has many usages and [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is greek (which is not one of [name_m]Roman[/name_m]'s usages).

What are your thoughts on the 2 as a sibset?

I actually think they sound wonderful together. Indeed quite themey, but still not a deal breaker, imo.

I’m glad you like it!! I clearly have a certain style that [name_f]Athena[/name_f] fits into. I was not trying to be themy at all. It just kind of ended up that way.

They sound pretty good together, and I like both. It’s like they complement each other.

When I read the thread title, I literally said, “Ohhh that’s lovely” …aloud… to myself.

I think it’s perfect, and one of the few sibsets that have ever really blown me away. I don’t mind the “theminess” at all.

Both lovely, and you’re right that they are very compatible in terms of sound and style. I get your concerns about “theme-iness”, but I’d go for it regardless - two very classy names with lots of history and substance.

Oh guys thank you so much! I am so glad to hear positive comments! I’m sure some out there will think we are weird and themey but we don’t tell names until birth and they won’t voice their comments after so I don’t care lol.

I think they’re really only a little ‘themey’ but seem more so because they do sound good together. As you say [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is greek, not roman. And even if you went with [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Hera[/name_f] and [name_m]Zeus[/name_m], those might be too much…
