Roman, Simone & Jasmine

DS is Roman and if #2 is a girl she’ll be Simone. If #2 is a boy he’ll be Cassian (Cash-en).

We’d like 3 children and think Jasmine might be nice if #3 is another girl.

WDYT of Roman, Simone & Jasmine?

We’re fine with Roman and Jasmine ending with the same sound. We know lots of sibsets ending the same and it works just fine.

TIA!

I really like [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], even though it’s not my typical style and it seems very 90’s. I don’t think it’s a great fit with [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] or [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_m]Cassian[/name_m]. [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_u]Simone[/name_u], and [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] have a very ancient feel ([name_u]Simone[/name_u] because it’s the feminine form of the biblical [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] because it comes from a [name_m]Roman[/name_m] family name, and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] for obvious reasons) and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] seems very 20th century. I’m also not a fan of the triple -n ending.

However, you did say “we know lots of sibsets ending the same and it works just fine.” It’s clearly a matter of preference. I don’t think the names sound great together, but sibling harmony isn’t really all that important. I know siblings with very similar names, rhyming names, different diminutives of the same name, and totally dissimilar names, but that obviously doesn’t harm them in any way. I just don’t think it sounds great together.

So if you’re asking if the names sound good together, the answer is not really, in my opinion; if you’re asking if you should use all three, the answer is probably yes. You seem really set on all of them and you’ve mentioned that the three names sounding perfect together is not your #1 concern, so it’s really just up to you and your priorities.

I love this sibset! [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] are two of my favorite names, and I think they go well with [name_m]Roman[/name_m]. The similar endings give them kind of a theme, which can be good if it doesn’t bother you.

I think @namenculture has some good points, though. I know a lot of people find [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] to be a little too 90s/[name_m]Aladdin[/name_m]-ish. BUT I personally think it’s a beautiful nature name that is up for revival with the Lilys and Roses of today. I like [name_u]Simone[/name_u] because it feels strong, interesting, and elegant. I do think the set is a little “M” heavy, though. Regardless, I like the names all individually so I think that alone makes the set work for me.

I think its a great sibset
