Is [name]Ileana[/name] pronouned EE-[name]LEN[/name]-UH or EE-[name]LAY[/name]-NAH or can it pronounced in Romanian both ways? - bit confused!
Although, I’m Romanian myself, I’m not sure with this name. EE-[name]LEN[/name]-UH seems more natural to me but from the way [name]Ileana[/name] is spelled I’d say EE-[name]LAY[/name]-NAH. Everyone on BehindTheName says it’s pronounced il-ee-[name]AH[/name]-nah. That looks and sounds more correct to me than the other two, considering it’s the Romanian variant of the name [name]Helen[/name].
