So I find out if I’m having a girl or boy in one month but my gut is telling me it’s a girl. And so is everyone else, including my 3 and 4 year old sons.
Anyway we have decided on the first name [name]Finch[/name] for her and are having trouble thinking up the perfect middle. I really want something old fashioned and romantic. Also want it to be a longer name but am not opposed to two shorter middles. What would you pair with [name]Finch[/name]?
Her older brothers are [name]Pilot[/name] and [name]Dexter[/name].
Thanks everyone!! My favorites from your suggestions are…
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] (reminded me also of Evolet)
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]/ [name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Coralie[/name] (also [name]Coraline[/name])
Emmabobemma- thank you!! I don’t (understandably) get many complements on my name choices.
Another first name I can’t seem to get out of my head is Plume. I’m a little worried about the similar letters to [name]Pilot[/name], but if anyone has any middle suggestions that don’t make it sound too French… I’d love to hear them. Thanks!!!
Of those, I like [name]Finch[/name] [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Finch[/name] [name]Coralie[/name]. [name]Just[/name] like the flow of those best. [name]IMO[/name] [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name] have enough edge to stand up to [name]Finch[/name], whereas [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] feel a little tame. [name]Coraline[/name] is pretty too, but I prefer the cheerful EE sound in [name]Coralie[/name].
To me, [name]Finch[/name] sounds better with [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Pilot[/name] than Plume. [name]Dexter[/name], [name]Pilot[/name], [name]Finch[/name] are all spunky and strong. Plume, while it has lovely sounds, just makes me think of a big froufy droopy feather. I think [name]Plum[/name] has a better image attached to it. If you must:
Plume [name]Cherise[/name]
Plume [name]Katine[/name]
Plume [name]Tallulah[/name]
Plume [name]Isolde[/name]…
I feel as though everyone keeps recommending the same old trendy names…Which, given an unusual first name, a case could certainly be made…So, you did ask for old-fashioned and romantic, right?
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Donatella[/name]

[name]Finch[/name] [name]Cinderella[/name] (There’s one in our local [name]Maine[/name] cemetery, not out of the question, even then…)
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Aquitaine[/name]
[name]Finch[/name] Arundel
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Mirabel[/name]
[name]Finch[/name] [name]Thomasina[/name]
