Having long appreciated this name from afar, I’m suddenly seriously crushing on [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]! This would probably be middle name material for us, although I do like it as a first as well.

Thoughts on [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] in general and as a middle for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]? I adore the combo [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] but it feels too Beezus[name_f][/name_f], could this be a good alternative? Which do you prefer?
I absolutely adore [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], and I know from asking about it, that people often suggest [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] as a substitute for [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], I don’t see why it can’t go both ways.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is such a cute, spunky name, and I prefer it to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], but that’s just personal preference.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is a long time love!! I read it in a book when i was about 10/11 and its just so charming, sparky, melodic, friendly and cool at the same time!

[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is delightful
I love both [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], and love them together. I agree that [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] feels too Beezus.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter tossed around [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] for her daughter’s first name, and ended up choosing [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]. Of course I just love it!
I love [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], it’s often been my answer to NB musings about what I’d change my name to if I had to – that stong starting sound falling into the lighter ending. I think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is a tippety top name as well, and they sound good together. [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is just stunning, though. Flow wise, I think it’s the stress on the middle syllable that gives it the edge. It’s my preference, I’d embrace the literary similarity, but of course I may feel differently if I was actually in the dilemma rather than imagining myself there!
I really like [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] - it has a fun yet strong sound and it’s a cool route to cute nickname [name_f]Romy[/name_f]. [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is really nice, I prefer it to [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] mainly because of the book reference (I haven’t read it and that’s still where my mind went). I’m also loving [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - probably not what you’re after but I thought I’d mention it.
[name_m]Oh[/name_m] I love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]! [name_f]She[/name_f] feels very playful and fun [name_f][/name_f]- something about the dashing -x mixed with…hmm what is it about Romilly…she’s got a sense of movement to her, I think, the way it starts slow then rushes into the pretty ending. [name_f]Kind[/name_f] of rambunctious[name_f][/name_f]. They’re both classic names that manage to feel energetic and fresh. I’m pretty sure [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] used [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] which gives her endless cool points. Personally not a fan of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] because of the ‘moan’ sound, so I strongly prefer [name_f]Romilly[/name_f].
Ahh I absolutely love [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] she’s elegant, with a pretty pan European flair, love the connection to [name_m]Rome[/name_m] along with the sweet nicknames [name_f]Romy[/name_f] & [name_f]Milly[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is beautiful. Completely understand why you’re crushing on her. I have [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_f]Evelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Janet[/name_f] on my extended list.
[name_f][/name_f]
I think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is effortlessly cool but I do prefer the sweetness of [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]. [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is stunning.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is a lovely name! [name_f][/name_f] I used to really like it, then went through a period of not really being impressed with it at all, but now I’ve been enjoying her the last few days again! [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_f]Romy[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would all be sweet nns.
[name_f][/name_f]
I also really like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] for you too! [name_f][/name_f] I might like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romy[/name_f] more? [name_f][/name_f] I just love [name_f]Romy[/name_f] lately, but [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] does feel more you!
I agree that it has the marginally better rhythm too, and I do love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] Probably slightly more than [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] in isolation. [name_m]The[/name_m] book character is my main association (a very positive one!) so I hesitate over the pairing. I know middles aren’t used often but I think it would irk me… You’d make a great [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] by the way!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Love[/name_f] this description! [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] strikes me as quite demure on the surface, but like you say with a sense of movement and fun waiting to emerge! Similar to [name_f]Bryony[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
I’m really liking [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] now. It avoids the Beezus[name_f][/name_f] issue, feels classic but bright and distinctive, and would also mean that all three daughters would have one literary name and one name linked to antiquity, which is a nice subtle link [name_f][/name_f]
