[name]Rowan[/name] has always been a big favorite of mine, and [name]Ronan[/name], although I’ve always liked it, was less so.
But now that I’m naming my child, I think [name]Ronan[/name] has a bit of a stronger, more masculine sound, and while it’s quite unusual here in the US, fits in more with the top/popular names while still being classy and unique, plus I’ve never heard of a female [name]Ronan[/name], and have heard of quite a few female Rowans.
I like both, but as of late I like [name]Ronan[/name] a bit better. I wouldn’t let the unisex factor deter you from [name]Rowan[/name] though. Either would be great for a boy [name]IMO[/name]!
[name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name] are both great names! [name]Rowan[/name] has been recently used for girls so if that worries you I would go with [name]Ronan[/name].
I like [name]Rowan[/name] a little more, but I do tend to identify it with girls now too. [name]Ronan[/name] seems a lil more masculine, but I don’t like the sound as much.
I only like [name]Rowan[/name] on a girl, but wouldn’t use it because it’s too unisex where I stayed. I would use the [name]Roan[/name] or [name]Rohan[/name] spelling for a boy. I love [name]Ronan[/name] and would chose that in a heartbeat if I could convince DP. Great name.
[name]Both[/name] are great names! I do prefer [name]Rowan[/name]. It is more pleasing to the ear for me. [name]Rowan[/name] is actually the only “unisex” name I have on my girl and boy lists. I don’t normally love unisex names, but [name]Rowan[/name] is one of the exceptions. I think most people consider [name]Rowan[/name] to be more masculine. I have even had people argue with me that [name]Rowan[/name] is all boy and that isn’t unisex. It is used more commonly on boys, so I don’t think you have to worry about it losing its masculinity. We are planning on possibly using [name]Rowan[/name] if our next child is a red head; my hubby is a red head, so we got our fingers crossed.
[name]Ronan[/name] is very masculine and it is a great name too though.
I totally love both, but I think I would be much more inclined to name a son [name]Ronan[/name], mostly for the reasons you’ve listed. [name]Both[/name] are wonderful names.
I like both very much and would consider using either on a little boy. [name]Both[/name] are romantic and dreamy. [name]Rowan[/name] used to be my favorite of the two, but I do think I may be starting to prefer [name]Ronan[/name].
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] over [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] Keating’s family calls him [name_u]Bo[/name_u] and I always thought that was a pretty baller nickname for [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]. Good luck.
