So excited because I think my hubby and I may have finally agreed on a name that feels “right”!! Please give me your thoughts on Ronan James as a brother to Hazel Margaret!
The two other names we’ve been considering lately are Lincoln James or Nolan James. There’s things I love about each, but something just doesn’t sit right. And I love that Ronan is more unique.
Looking forward to hearing your opinions. Thank you!
*Edit to add I prefer spelling Ronan but husband said he likes Ronin. We’ll see who wins if we do go with that name

Ronin James is ever so handsome! Hazel & Ronin sound absolutely lovely together.
I had to check whether Ronin is pronounced the same as Ronan, I wasn’t sure. That’s my only hesitation, that the pronunciation may not be intuitive with that spelling.

Thank you! I just updated the post to [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] since that’s the spelling I prefer. Husband likes [name_m]Ronin[/name_m]. I hope I win!

I prefer the [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] spelling as well, so I hope you win, but either way it’s a very handsome name!

It’s a great choice, with a nice meaning.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] love love [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] with your daughter’s beautiful name! As for the spelling predicament, there’s also [name_m]Ronen[/name_m] (which means song). That might be a nice middle ground for you both

I love [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] and I prefer the ‘Ronan’ spelling as it’s the traditional [name_f]Irish[/name_f] way. Also a fan of [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] or [name_m]Rohan[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m]

I love [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] (and your combo) too! [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] (with that spelling) is [name_f]Irish[/name_f] but not too common or hard to pronounce. (Ronin, etc. are not as much my style.)

I love Ronan James! Very handsome! Ronan is one of my favourites too
Ronin is a word for a wondering samurai, a sell-sword. I have understood that a ronin was seen as a failure and overall being a ronin was seen as a tragedy. There’s a lot of information online. I would use it as a nickname perhaps, it’s not exactly a good word.
I also immediately thought of the movie ‘47 Ronin’ (a samurai hero movie with Keanu Reeves
).
