I would love to hear your thoughts on [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] had been consistently in my top 5 for probably the past 5 years or so, I love him dearly, for many reasons, but lately I’ve been thinking about [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] a lot too. [name_f][/name_f] I’d love to hear any combo ideas (first or middle) you have, as well!
I like it! I think it’s quite handsome and always have. I do think it would be misheard as [name_m]Roman[/name_m] (which I dislike) and [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] (which I do like).
I like [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- slightly rugged, but gentle too, clunky cool yet sweet. I love the meaning too [name_f][/name_f]- unexpected in that way.
I like [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] very much. [name_f]My[/name_f] go to is [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] / [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] / [name_m]Alastar[/name_m].
I love Ronan - and have for many years. I know a kid with the Ronin version and spelling. It’s a handsome and heroic name while also being grounded and fun!
Ronan Harvey
Ronan Emrys
Ronan Alaric
Ronan Prescott
Ronan Alasdair
Ronan Charles
Ronan Felix
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is in my top 5 boys names, but my wife’s cousin named her son [name_m]Roman[/name_m], so that rules out [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] AND [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] for us.
[name_f][/name_f]
If going the [name_m]Irish[/name_m] route: [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] or [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Sean[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Just[/name_m] any boy name: [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] or [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m]
Thank you everyone! [name_f][/name_f] It’s wonderful to see him get so much love.
[name_f][/name_f]
@Ehrob1[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Grey[/name_m] are such handsome and timeless combinations! [name_f][/name_f] I also think [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Grey[/name_m] would be lovely.
[name_f][/name_f]
@somemelodioussonnet[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- yes, I am with you, love [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], don’t care for [name_m]Roman[/name_m] at all. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] are so delightfully [name_m]Irish[/name_m], but they both sound a little singsongy to me?
[name_f][/name_f]
@Greyblue[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] is lovely! [name_f][/name_f] I don’t know that I like it as much as my beloved [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] though. [name_f][/name_f] Shecaniah’s meaning is beautiful but the name itself doesn’t do a ton for me? [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_m]Alphaeus[/name_m] is a fun way to honor my nephew (Alf!e) but I already have him paired with [name_m]Watson[/name_m] currently. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Alphaeus[/name_m] is intriguing though!
[name_f][/name_f]
@EloiseT[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- oh yes, [name_m]Ronin[/name_m] and the Hebrew [name_m]Ronen[/name_m] are also lovely! [name_f][/name_f] I do think [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is my favorite spelling though. [name_f][/name_f] I’m not generally a [name_m]Felix[/name_m] person at all but [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is a lovely name!
[name_f][/name_f]
@atomicginge[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- oh what a shame! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] are so beautiful. [name_f][/name_f] I both like [name_m]Irish[/name_m] names with him and yet also feel like I’m not [name_m]Irish[/name_m] enough to pull it off. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. I doubt I’d use [name_m]William[/name_m] as I don’t really have any connection to it and my sister already used it, but [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is such a timeless and classic combination!
[name_f][/name_f]
@GinnyPotter[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] is so wonderful! [name_f][/name_f] I feel like most of my favorite [name_m]Irish[/name_m] names are 2 syllables and end in -an which makes it hard to pair with [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], but [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] is definitely an exception. [name_f][/name_f] I don’t know that I’m connected enough to my [name_m]Irish[/name_m] ancestry to use something like [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] though [name_f][/name_f]. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m], and [name_m]Clement[/name_m] are also fabulous though!
No combos, but I think [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is dashing, witty, and handsome. I have a specific image of a man with wavy blonde hair on horseback riding through the woods. I think it strikes a nice balance between the gentle, more unisex [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and the very masculine, literal [name_m]Roman[/name_m].
I prefer [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] too [name_f][/name_f]- not Ronon as someone else mentioned and not [name_m]Ronen[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] mention was actually the Japanese, [name_m]Ronin[/name_m] (meaning samurai without a master ).
Oh, yes, I’m familiar with all 4… my point was just that of all the available options, [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is my preferred spelling. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Ronin[/name_m] does have very cool associations, though, I 100% agree!
