Our daughter is named Sloan Florence. We’re expecting again and don’t know the gender, but for a girl we are strongly considering Rooney Violet.
Questions - thoughts on this sibset? Thoughts on Rooney in general - is it too weird? What is your impression of someone with this name? Opinions on how Rooney and Violet work together also welcome! Thank you!
I like it! It has a similar vibe to [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] [name_u]Florence[/name_u] while being a little bit different it’s a little more poppy. [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
I really like [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]! [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] definitely doesn’t fit with other names I like but I still love it! It reminds me of an author, [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_u]Rooney[/name_u], as well as the actress [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] [name_f]Mara[/name_f]. It sounds refined to me; chic and spunky at the same time. [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] have a great flow together, and I like that the middle name is more feminine to balance it out (same as with your daughter. Overall, I think it’s a great name!

[name_f]My[/name_f] Grandfather mother was a [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] before she got married so to me [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] has a lovely connection to my Great Grandmother, in turn my Grandfather and my dads family tree. Moving away from the sentimental qualities the name has for me I think [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] in general is cool. [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] feels fresh, outdoorsy and fun. [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] definitely is a cool girl and shares the same preppy sound of [name_u]Sloan[/name_u]. [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] & [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] are great. Moving onto [name_f]Violet[/name_f] I think she’s lovely she feels energetic and sparkly with [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] I really love it. Also I like the floral connection between the sisters with the middle names.

But if your having doubts going to suggest [name_u]Hartley[/name_u] [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_m]Hopewell[/name_m] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]! I think both [name_u]Hartley[/name_u] & [name_m]Hopewell[/name_m] share similar qualities too [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] work well with [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] and I think the middle names are quirky florals that provide that connection.

No, [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] is absolutely not weird! A decade or two ago it may have been but thanks to [name_u]Rooney[/name_u] [name_f]Mara[/name_f] I think the name has gotten decent exposure. Plus, it vibes well with the gender neutral seeming [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] [name_u]Florence[/name_u].

Rooney is so very adorable. I really like this name. It feels very playful and adventurous, but also wearable, sweet, and grounded. Especially beside sister Sloan! Plus, it’s not utterly unheard of, thanks to actress Rooney Mara!
