Rosa, Reina, Selena or Ariana?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m],

I am expecting baby number 3 and have just found out its a girls.

I already have [name_m]Caden[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] and [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] but worried its too much flower with [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]… [name_f]Reina[/name_f] I like but OHs family are Hispanic and the literal translation of queen is odd to them…

I think [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] is getting popular in the U.S and it will catch up here in the U.K…

I’m not sure of [name_f]Selena[/name_f] with my sibset… Opinions please x

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is OK.

[name_f]Reina[/name_f] is pretty.

[name_f]Selina[/name_f] I like.

[name_f]Ariana[/name_f] sounds like aryan and doesn’t work for me.

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]- [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is a lovely name, but I do agree that both [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] in a sibset is a little too much. Maybe [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], or [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] would work better, since they aren’t such a direct connection to the flower. I particularly like [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f].

[name_f]Reina[/name_f]- [name_f]Reina[/name_f] is pretty, but if it directly translates to ‘queen’ then I don’t think it should be used. Perhaps the ‘[name_f]Reyna[/name_f]’ spelling (though it still sounds the same) would lighten up the direct translation? It’s a gorgeous choice, and goes well with [name_m]Caden[/name_m] and [name_f]Lilac[/name_f].

[name_f]Selena[/name_f]- Not my favorite. Because of [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez, it seems fairly trendy to me, and I think it’s going to get popular. Also, i don’t like how it sounds in the sibset, though I’m not sure why.

[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]- It’s definitely going to get very popular (mostly because of up-and-coming pop singer [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] [name_f]Grande[/name_f]), but it’s very, very pretty. I love this name! [name_m]Caden[/name_m], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] doesn’t sound amazing, though.

I think my favorite is [name_f]Reina[/name_f] with your sibset.

I love [name_f]Selena[/name_f] and like [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] with your sibsets

I vote [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or [name_f]Reina[/name_f], like the suggestion of [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f] as well

Thanks ladies, I’m open to other suggestions… would prefer a Hispanic name x

I don’t have much to offer in terms of the names that you already have that hasn’t already been given, so here are some other names I came up with!

Rosalie is a nice variation of Rosa that would steer away from having your kids resemble a bouquet.

Rosario – Spanish, Rose-esque though different in literal meaning.

Luna, though popular, is a lovely little girls name.

Camilla – Just love this name

Iliana – A good friend of mine has this name and she is amazing.

Cateleya – a flower name, but not as obvious. I believe it’s a lily in Columbia and has been made popular by a movie, so not sure if that makes it less appealing. Sure is beautiful though.

Mirasol – meaning sunflower in spanish. Another flower but again, less obvious.

Paz

So some ideas. Good luck. I think there are so many beautiful spanish/hispanic names that you have a lot to work with. Given the siblings’ names however going for a distinctly hispanic name may clash a little?

My vote is for [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]. Your husband family could call here [name_f]Ana[/name_f] for a nickname.
