My all time favourite girl name is [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. Lately I have been looking at sibling names that would go well with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. I stumbled across [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] and I really like the name, but wondered if they are too similar?
I love both [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] (my preferred spelling). I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] work very well for a sibling set.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m], they are both common names - [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - with a “lee” type of ending added on for variety. That doesn’t make them too similar to use, only I do think they sound a bit cutesy in a sibset. I also think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a really fresh name, virtually unheard of for the past 100 years, until Twilight came along. It has a light sound and a trendy [name_m]French[/name_m] style. [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] has been used in Europe consistently since Medieval times so to me it doesn’t feel as fresh, since I’ve met a few people with the name - both [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] and [name_f]Annaliese[/name_f]. It’s nice, but it feels more pedestrian, and heavier. I think that either [name_f]Anabelle[/name_f] (AWE-nah-bell) or [name_f]Anais[/name_f] (which sounds a lot like [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] if pronounced the [name_m]French[/name_m] way) go better with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
Not to close at all! They have different beginning and ending sounds. The “z” sound in both names ties the girls together which makes them sound like siblings The style also matches well. I love the sound of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]!
