Ok so my dh’s dad’s name is “[name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name]” my hubby really wants to some how honor his father through a name, we have our boy name pick already ([name]Wade[/name] [name]Everett[/name]) honoring my family and hubby’s mom’s family anyways we were thinking we could use “[name]Rosalie[/name]” to honor “[name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name]” is that too much of a stretch? Thanks
I don’t see how [name]Rosalie[/name] honors [name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name], maybe you could give a girl [name]Lee[/name] as a mn or find a name related to the meaning of [name]Ronald[/name]?
I think it works. [name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name] sound really similar, they rhyme. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch and it has the lie (lee) ending.
It’s actually a really cute idea, and I can definitely see similarities in [name]Rosalie[/name] and [name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. And [name]Rosalie[/name] is a beautiful name anyways.
Wow, we have a [name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name] on our list of possible people to honor, too! We aren’t expecting a baby but have thought about [name]Rosalie[/name] as an option, so yeah, I think it works. (We’ve also thought about [name]Rose[/name] as a first name and an L middle to get the same initials.) [name]Ronald[/name] is a tough one if you have a girl–the only other option we’ve tossed around is [name]Veronica[/name], because of the ron in the middle.
I think it works. It is about as close as you can get finding a girls name that honors a boys name, without naming her [name]Ronald[/name] (please don’t!) I can appreciate the connection (I don’t consider it too much of a stretch), and I also happen to love [name]Rosalie[/name].
Oh great thanks so much everyone! So glad to hear you guys can see the connection helps so much!
I think it works, I mean [name]Rosalie[/name] has the -lee sound in it, and it starts with [name]Ro[/name] like [name]Ronald[/name]. It’s a very creative way to do it
^ Totally agree. Besides, [name]Rosalie[/name] is a beautiful name anyway. [name]Just[/name] gorgeous!
I think it works, and personally, I think if you think it works to honour, then that’s the only thing that matters. Passers-by aren’t going to know the connection even if you used [name]Ronald[/name] [name]Lee[/name] itself, so I think if you think it works, then it does.
