Lately i have fallen in love with the name [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]… its sound and meaning (hard to find the perfect balance, eh?)
[name_m]Just[/name_m] want your thoughts on it. Does it sound too villain-ish, pet name-ish… so on?
And what would a [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] look like/what personality would a [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] have?
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] definitely reminds me of a dog. Like, a Spuds [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] Dog.
I imagine a little boy named [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] would definitely be a handful. Very lively and full of energy, but that could just be my dog association.
Thanks for your opinions! I still really, really love it! Its now my #1.
Was thinking of possible middles and came up with…
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (family name)
And the nn [name_m]Ross[/name_m] (can you think of any other nn’s?)
Any other suggestions for middles, i would prefer a long middle to balance the short sound of [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u].
I named my dog [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], however he was known as “[name_m]Ross[/name_m]” all the time (dogs respond to one syllable names best). I picked it because of the cute, smart character on “Pixel Perfect” on Disney [name_f]Channel[/name_f] (I was a kid, okay!). So to me, it will always be a dog name, sorry
I totally understand! We have human names for our dogs so if anyone suggests them on this site i associate it with them too. lol
I guess for me the name hasnt been ‘‘ruined’’ mainly because i have never met an animal named [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] nor a child, so to me its open and for use when the time eventually comes. And hopefully by then it still remains fresh and handsome
I prefer the sound of [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but I like honoring over sound, so I would vote for [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]. You could also honor [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] through meaning, his birthday, things he loves. The only other nickname I can think of is [name_f]Coe[/name_f].
@lovemysweeties: Thats a great idea! I am with you on that, love the sound of [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] but [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] has more meaning. @alexa400: Rocky is the perfect nn! Thanks
I like honoring in fun, unexpected ways. For Example [name_m]Espen[/name_m] [name_m]Rigby[/name_m]. [name_m]Espen[/name_m] has special family meaning. [name_m]Espen[/name_m] also means “God [name_m]Bear[/name_m]”, bear ties in with my son’s name that also has a meaning tied to an animal. [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] is to honor my brother who loves The Beatles. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] is one of his favorite songs. He felt very honored when he heard I wanted to honor him and he felt it was a fun and creative way to do it.
So the only name that i like, that has the same meaning as [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is…
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
But i think [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] sounds a bit try hard lol
I love [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]. My grandmother’s cousin was named [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], and he was the adventurous, wandering type. He loved to travel. In general I imagine [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] as outgoing, quirky, and fun. He would definitely have some kind of creative talent - art, music, writing, something.
@southern.maple: Thats so awesome to hear an actual human being named [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]!
I asked mum what she thought a [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] would be like and she just said ‘’[name_m]Rugby[/name_m] Player’’… i thought that was cool since my family is really into their rugby (its like a religion in my home).
I now like the name…
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m]
