I think it’s beyond fine!!!
I voted OK but I totally see your point. I think you should name the child your [name]FAVORITE[/name] names as long as you both agree on it, and it doesn’t match the siblings too much (i.e. [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name]- NO!). I don’t even think all the need-to-match styles is THAT important as children ultimately go their separate ways and live separate lives. That said, I might hunt for another name you both like since the noun thing is a valid concern that others might notice and if it REALLY bothers you, then it’s worth finding something different so that you are at peace for the years they are living together.
Honestly, what stands out to me more than [name]Olive[/name]/food and [name]Rose[/name]/flower is that they’re both colors. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing if you absolutely love the name [name]Rose[/name], but I find it too matchy, personally.
Bump for more votes
I think that [name]Rose[/name] is getting far too popular. What about [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]?
I do like [name]Willow[/name] a lot, it was actually on the short list when we named [name]Olive[/name]. This post is not deciding whether [name]Rose[/name] will be her name, I was more just trying to get an idea of if we could put it on the short list or not. I have others that I prefer over [name]Rose[/name] but DH won’t let it go so I wanted some outside input.
[name]Glad[/name] to hear most people think I’m overthinking the whole food/flower thing though. DH will be thrilled. Now to decide if I love it (and quickly). Thanks!
