DH and I are expecting our first child in august. We had a real hard time conceiving, which only adds to the pressure I feel to pick the perfect name for us. Because it could be our only chance.
Anyway…
We were looking for a well aging classic, and basically came up with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]. And we really like it.
But…
We are afraid that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so classic, people would perceive it as bland.
I personally don’t know any girls or women named [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but I do know it’s a common middle.
Thoughts?
(Our surname is [name_m]Eaton[/name_m], if that helps)
I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful, it’s not that common as a first name and therefore sounds classic but not overdone, fresh even.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] is beautiful, too. However, I do find that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] quickly runs into names that start with a vowel, especially long one.
With [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], that’s not much of a problem, however, with [name_m]Eaton[/name_m], for me the name becomes Roseaton. Other names have the same problem, but I think it’s very extreme with one-syllable names ([name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], etc.).
So, first name = Top, first name + middle name = top, first name + last name = I personally wouldn’t do it.
Maybe [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], etc. with the nn [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be an option?!
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful all by itself! Because this may be your only child, I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a perfect name. What’s more precious than a rose? People often show their love with roses, and your daughter is the living form of you and your husband’s love for each other.
It’s a timeless, classy name and shows how loved your daughter is. I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_m]Eaton[/name_m] is a gorgeous name. Congratulations on your sweet girl!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the above answer! I second everything that has been said, basically. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a strong, beautiful, very underused (as a first name) classic, and I love it paired with the more extravagant (but still lovely and classy) [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is perfectly sweet on her own. She is classic, but that doesn’t make her bland by any means. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous! While I like a lot of the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] variations, I think just [name_f]Rose[/name_f] seems like the right choice here.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is such a timeless classic, and paired with the elegant and elaborate [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] it is a gorgeous sight to behold.
