Rose vs Rosalie

These are both names I love, Rose being an all time favorite (and my online name) and I’m having a name crush on Rosalie right now.

Some questions about these names (for fun):

  • how different do they feel to you?
  • what vibes do you get from them?
  • which one do you prefer and why?

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a favorite of mine and I love the [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] variation!

I feel [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very timeless and classic. It’s simple but beautiful and isn’t pinned to one particular decade.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] feels more vintage and whimsical. It’s a little more trendy but still very pretty.

I slightly prefer [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but you can’t go wrong with either!

They feel very different to me. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is classic, more serious and dignified in an elegant, archetypal way. I love its eternal vintage beauty. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is more cutesy and juvenile. I much prefer [name_f]Rose[/name_f], imo the original and understated best.

I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a timeless name that feels effortlessly gorgeous, however because I have met quite a few girls called [name_f]Rose[/name_f], I would have to prefer [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is more rare, has a whimsical quality, sounds so sweet to me and I adore the nicknames: [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and then [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could also be used.

I have a [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] so I’m biased. I have to agree with several of the above posters – [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] isa little whimsical and a bit different. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is more serious and feels a little “old” to me. That’s not a bad thing! Both are wonderful names. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter goes by [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] 90% of the time.

When deciding I thought about sibling names. I like a lot of longer names, and I felt like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would get lost amongst them. But if you prefer a lot of shorter names, maybe [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] will feel like “too much.”

I prefer [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] which feels more fresh with the nicknames [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] or rose . [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is still great by itself and very pretty as first name . :cherry_blossom:

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is one of my top middles. It goes with so many names but It doesn’t work as well as a first.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] works better as a first but it’s a little cutesy. [name_f]Rosalee[/name_f] isn’t as juvenile.

Both are gorgeous :rose:

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is elegant, refined, warm, nostalgic with an old school Hollywood glamour feel along with being packed full of romance. I love the floral connotations behind rose I absolutely adore roses! Honestly [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has been a favourite of mine for years and years she’s just beautiful. If I’m ever blessed with another daughter her name will be [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is also beautiful. She feels elegant, sugary sweet and delicate. She reminds me of pink lace, pastel coloured roses and china teacups. She has a more whimsical flair and feels slightly more fashionable.

They definitely feel really different to me!! The vibes and style are not at all similar. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] feels like a solid, traditional classic, a bit more mature - she’s elegant and studious. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] feels more airy and girly, more vintage than classic, with a small hint of cottagecore and preppy style. I like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] more because of her sweeter sound, but they’re both lovely!
