Rose

To honor a [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] and carry on a tradition of using [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in a form in a middle name, I’ve come up with [name_f]Rosette[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] as favorites. But I feel like I may be missing a gem!! What would you add??

(Bonus if it somehow relates to [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as well  )

Thanks in advance for your help!!

So sweet! My little one is [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] :face_holding_back_tears:

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]
Rosaphine
[name_f]Roselle[/name_f]
Rosewyn
Rosebay
[name_f]Maryrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Melrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Wildrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]

I could probably go on but that’s all I can think of for now :sob:

[name_f]Rosette[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] are all great choices!

There are a lot of great suggestions above. A few I would add are:
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosamond[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Roselyn[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]

  • [name_f]Rosine[/name_f]: (ro-ZEEN) shares the same “ne” ending as [name_f]Jane[/name_f], giving a beautiful, quiet nod to both.
  • [name_f]Roselle[/name_f]: similar to [name_f]Rosette[/name_f], but with a softer, flowing “L” sound.
  • [name_f]Rosia[/name_f]: slightly Victorian-sounding option that feels light and airy.
  • [name_f]Wildrose[/name_f]: an option if you feel [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] a bit too structured, this one is unexpected, incredibly romantic, and makes for an unforgettable, adventurous middle name.
  • [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]: has a structured, timeless elegance that pairs beautifully with first names the same way [name_f]Jane[/name_f] does.
  • [name_m]Brier[/name_m] / [name_f]Briar[/name_f]: is a more subtle, modern way to do a “rose” name without using the actual prefix “Rose”.
  • [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]: stunning, vintage name and the ending has a subtle strength to it, much like [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
  • [name_f]Rozenn[/name_f]: a less common version of a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] variant name, it’s a beautiful Breton/Celtic name that literally means “rose”, and has the exact same rhythmic, one-syllable ending sound as [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (-n/-ne), making it feel like a true hybrid.

My favourite unusual [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names are …

  • [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]
  • [name_f]Melrose[/name_f]
  • [name_m]Rosen[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Rosier[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Roswell[/name_m]
  • [name_f]Roselle[/name_f]
  • Roswen

Though I do have a soft spot for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. I’m mostly at a loss for a connection to [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. My only ideas are a double middle with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f] being the other middle (Jane means [name_m]God[/name_m] is gracious, so that’s where the [name_f]Grace[/name_f] comes from) or using a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] related name that starts with J like [name_f]Junerose[/name_f] to sort of nod towards [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps, good luck!

Could you do [name_f]Rosaria[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a double middle name? Or [name_f]Rosanne[/name_f] with a nod to the ANE of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] in it

Came to suggest Rosejean to honor both [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] & [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!

Off of your list [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is 100% my favourite. I also have a family member I may want to honor one day with the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and I would say [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is probably the way to go (it’s one of my favourites!) It also can branch onto so many other great nicknames (Ro, Lie, [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Sali[/name_f], [name_f]Osa[/name_f], [name_f]Roz[/name_f], Ali).
