I’m afraid not on its own, because the “x” sound doesn’t appear at all in the name. But perhaps if her middle name did ([name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f], for example) [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] could be applicable.
Then again, I know a [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] who goes solely by [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], so whatever works. It just feels a bit forced to me, personally.

I think it works. It’s not intuitive but then neither is someone going by their middle name.

I agree that it would make more sense if you opted for a middle name containing x, but I don’t actually think its necessary. Nicknames are really quite a gray area. My sister had a good friend named [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] who went by [name_m]Bob[/name_m] for a period of her life.

Bwah haha! I’m loving the story of [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] going by [name_m]Bob[/name_m]!

I love [name_f]Roxie[/name_f]. It’s peppery and cute. I was thinking [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] or [name_f]Raquela[/name_f] as a formal name though because I know a couple called [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] and [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] to [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] seems relatively straightforward.

I love the name [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] but I wouldn’t have thought of connecting it to [name_f]Roxie[/name_f]. I liked [name_m]Rommie[/name_m]/[name_u]Romy[/name_u] for [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f].

It would be a bit of a stretch, but I think it could work. Nicknames don’t have to be exact.
