[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,
I have a [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and want to hear your thoughts on [name_f]Etta[/name_f], and any suggestions for a name that [name_f]Etta[/name_f] could be short for. Our surname has a ‘tt’ in it, so if possible the long name would not have a ‘tt’ but its not a deal breaker for me.
Does [name_f]Etta[/name_f] sound good with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]?
So far I’ve thought of [name_f]Henriette[/name_f]/[name_f]Henriette[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. I suppose I’m not very imaginative, and could use some help!
Also any middle name suggestions would be welcome. I’m already 34 weeks and we have been so busy I’ve not really thought about names at all!
Thanks everyone x
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] is not really my style, but I think it has the same old-fashioned vibe as [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].
Pretty much any name that ends in -et could shorten to [name_f]Etta[/name_f]: [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Garnet[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Linnet[/name_f], [name_f]Olivet[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]/[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. In the double-t camp: [name_f]Annette[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f], [name_f]Coretta[/name_f], [name_f]Lisette[/name_f], [name_f]Loretta[/name_f], [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Suzette[/name_f], [name_f]Yvette[/name_f].
I love the idea of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], especially, or your idea of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (a real-life sibset I know).
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_f]Violette[/name_f] are a great sibset [name_f]IMO[/name_f], and you could easily give [name_f]Violette[/name_f] the nickname [name_f]Etta[/name_f].
I have a [name_f]Greta[/name_f] short for [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], but you could easily do [name_f]Greta[/name_f] short for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], since it has a more formal feeling, similar to [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] as sisters. [name_f]Etta[/name_f] could be short for [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] or [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]?
