What do you think of the name Roses? Like a variation of [name]Rose[/name]. I think it’s pretty but I’m still sitting on the fence about it.
Hmm. I kind of like it and kind of don’t. I can see how you’re stuck. Somehow, it evokes kind of a “goth” feel to me, but that just might be me. Not like an overbearing one. It also rhymes with [name]Moses[/name]. Believe it or not I can see people not recognizing the word as a name and getting tripped up on pronunciation. But maybe not.
I would pretty much fully support this in the middle. Up front…it’s by no means awful, but I’d want to encourage straight up [name]Rose[/name].
I’m in the middle with it. It sounds like Guns N’ Roses, or some punk band variation or something of that sort. I would love it for a middle name though, that would be amazing!!!
I immediately thought of her getting jokes like “Roses are red, violets are blue, ________(add whatever mean here)”. I would personally go with [name]Rose[/name].
I think that this name in a sentence would look confusing.
[name]Rose[/name] is gorgeous, but pluralizing it makes it seem almost infantile to me somehow, like [name]Peaches[/name]. I think that a plural noun name could possibly work, but I don’t think that this one does. I think if I met a Roses I would wonder why her parents didn’t just name her [name]Rose[/name].
Noun names are one thing, plural noun names are another. Roses just sounds odd. Try the baby name test drive: Baby Name Test Drive : BabyNameGenie.com
Stick with [name]Rose[/name].
I’d say go with [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Rosette[/name] or any other varient of [name]Rose[/name], and call her Roses. It’s cute as a nickname, but would look like a typo to lots of people when written.
I like [name]Rose[/name] as a first name (I think it’s overdone as a middle name, but delightful in the first name position). Roses makes an excellent nickname for [name]Rose[/name], but no, I don’t like it as a name. Why not name a daughter [name]Rose[/name], and call her Roses? It’s a much better nickname than [name]Rosie[/name].
I would just stick with [name]Rose[/name]. I feel like it would cause many problems for her, plus she is only one beautiful rose not more than one. Lol :).
Hmm…I think its cute but it could be a problem as people will probably often think its a mis-spelling and call her [name]Rose[/name] anyway.
Also in the UK, Roses are a popular box of chocolates so it makes me think of that straight away! I think [name]Rose[/name] with Roses as nn is adorable
I’m going to stick my neck out there and say I think it’s unique and spunky in a good way. Roses is unexpected and fresh. Yes, you will get some raised eyebrows and people who don’t understand. But I think it’s a fun spin on a classic, and I would be glad to meet a Roses!
I don’t like Roses. It reminds me of the Glass Menagerie - [name]Blue[/name] Roses and thus reminds me of pleurisy. Also I’d find it confusing in a sentence.
Yes, pleurisy would be a negative association.
Also Guns N’ ____
And the Spanish surname Rosas.
I actually know someone who did this "-_- His daughter is called [name]Red[/name] Roses. Everyone who hears it goes O_o Not a good idea. I’d stick with [name]Rose[/name].
I don’t think it accomplishes anything - to me it doesn’t come across as fresher or more unique, just as sort of odd and pointless. It works as a nickname for [name]Rose[/name] or even better as a nn for something longer like [name]Rosamund[/name].
