Rosie or Dahlia

[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] or [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]?

I do not like nick names, so I am leaning towards [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I’m afraid [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] would be called [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] and I just don’t think I can jump on board for that.

I love [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].

I love both although I personally much prefer [name_f]Rose[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. Also, I don’t think someone called [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] would be called [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]; I’d never even thought of it but with my accent (Australian) it doesn’t make sense anyway. So maybe it would be more likely in the US. I’m not sure which I’d pick ultimately - probably [name_f]Rose[/name_f] over [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] but [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] over [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].

I much prefer [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], classic and sweet

Much prefer dahlia and don’t think that people would call her dolly! But I like people to have a non nickname name for when they grow up and want to present professionally

Thank you! ”

Maybe it’s our location in the US but [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is pronounced [name_m]Doll[/name_m]-lee- ah or [name_m]Doll[/name_m]-ya. Which is why I wonder about the nn [name_f]Dolly[/name_f].

We do not like nn and are more name your child what you’d call them types. We also don’t worry about a “resume” name, which is why we wouldn’t even consider [name_f]Rose[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. She could choose to go by [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as an adult, or her middle, really it’s her choice. There’s plenty of adult Rosies out there. Anyways thank you all who gave your opinion on [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] vs [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] :kissing_heart:

I prefer [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]! Such a pretty choice. I think [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is a bit youthful but a nice choice. I don’t think people would automatically shorten [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], especially since [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] isn’t a very popular nickname.

I much prefer [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], and I also don’t see how they’d get to [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] from [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] (it’s pronounced [name_u]DAY[/name_u]-lee-uh where I am).

I absolutely prefer [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] for a first name. It’s so much more substantial, and I love the subtle tinge of gothic drama.

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], while beautiful, is all [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] to me. I have always had a soft spot for [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].

I have a sister named [name_f]Adalia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. No one calls her by a nickname (except [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sometimes). I prefer [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f].

I absolutely love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], and to me [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is too “nickname-y” so I’d pick [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] in a heartbeat. But if you prefer [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] then you should use it
