So I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] derived names. And I honestly thought I’d name my daughter [name_f]Rose[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] growing up. But it turned out my married last name is Rodgers and the alliteration makes me think of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] the riveter. ” Maybe it’s just me but I can’t gets past it in the 4 years we’ve been married.
So I was thinking maybe a double first name with the other name first (I honestly can’t think of an example. But _____-[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Kate[/name_f] style), or maybe a two syllable name like [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] would help, just putting somes space between the two Rs. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] Rodgers doesn’t make me think of our beloved wartime hero. I cant use [name_f]Rosemarie/name_f 'cause it’s my aunt’s name!
Super stuck. I’m ok with letting it go but I figured I’d ask. I’ve asked lot of questions on here, but I’ve kept my love of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] hidden since it seemed just sooo impractical.
My first dd (dear daughter) wound up being [name_f]Anna[/name_f] btw, so [name_f]Ann[/name_f] names aren’t an option either.
There are lots of longer [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names you could use:
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_f]Roselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosette[/name_f]
Rosabel
I think the [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] the Riveter association will never (or at least hardly ever) come up. I’m a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and went by [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] when I was little (and occasionally still do) and no one has ever said anything about that. I actually didn’t even know that was her name, I looked it up to see what you were talking about lol. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] go so well together!
I am a big believer in choosing a first name that complements your surname. And I honestly think [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] Rodgers sounds great. As a previous poster said, it’s very memorable, a name that will serve her well for a lifetime.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are two of my own favourites. They are beautiful together.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]–I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f]!
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Hallie Rose
Eva Rose
Tessa Rose
Nina Rose
My daughters name is [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f], so I am biased, but I think [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] Rodgers sounds great! She goes by [name_f]Ro[/name_f] and Roro, maybe in the future Rizzo, but the [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] nickname is avoidable with some of the longer [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names.
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is my favorite [name_f]Rose[/name_f] double name, but I also like
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
If it makes any difference, I have no idea what a [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] the riveter is?!
My last name starts with S and I have given up a few names I really like because of that. I can totally understand avoiding being heavy with one letter. For me, if you plan on calling her [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], its [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] Rodgers regardless of if you use [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] or something else- so it’s a matter of taste.
As far as [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] the Riveter- I don’t think that is a bad association. I also don’t think that people will associate the two . If we were talking about using [name_f]Oprah[/name_f], I would definitely say people would think [name_f]Oprah[/name_f] Winfrey, but we are talking about [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], lots of little girls are named [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/rosie.
I think [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] Rodgers would actually be super stunningly gorgeous, honestly! Plus, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is lovely. I think [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f], Rosabel(le), [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosina[/name_f] all work equally well! I think you have some options. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] Rodgers is lovely, but I admit to preferring [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] in general, personally.
