Ross? Oui, or non?

Forgive my French-ey mood.

I came across this name again at work today, and I’m reminded how much I love it. Its simplicity, its laid-back nature, it’s charming, unassuming quality. I can imagine the kindest, wisest, humblest, most charmingly captivating guy with the name [name]Ross[/name]. A likeable guy. Although maybe I like [name]Ross[/name] so much because that’s what I’d love to see in a guy I could potentially meet, haha. But I’ve liked it for a long time, and I’m finally considering it. Is it too dated? Too simple? I like it’s simplicity, but it almost seems in the same camp as [name]Scott[/name]–a nice name, but I can picture an adult guy much easier than I could picture a little boy.

I suppose [name]Roscoe[/name] could be an option, but I dislike it, honestly–it seems both flashy, cocky [name]New[/name] [name]York[/name] City boy with a trust fund and the attitude to prove it, and dirty white trash. Neither have the sweet wholesome-ness of [name]Ross[/name] that I love. Is it better as a MN? “R” alliteration is definitely a thing in my family, so I’m never opposed to accruing more “R” names! I’m not sure if I prefer [name]Ross[/name] as a FN or a MN yet–I’m just trying to feel [name]Ross[/name] out, decide how much I truly do love him.

Thanks, ladies!

I like [name]Ross[/name] and I don’t think it’s “too simple”. In fact, I’m not sure there are any names that are too simple.

I’d love to meet a little [name]Ross[/name]. I don’t like [name]Roscoe[/name] at all and prefer [name]Ross[/name], without a longer name.
