Thanks to everyone who commented on my previous post. I’ve narrowed things down quite a bit.
I noticed that the majority of the names on my list have an L in them. I thought that would be a cute way to tie all of my future daughter’s names together, so I cut out the few that don’t have an L (or moved them to the middle spot). What do you think of this idea - cute, cheesy, dumb, etc.?
TOP 8
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] - possibly nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f]?
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] - possibly nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
MIDDLE SPOT ONLY
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] - no L
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f] - too dated compared to other names
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] - don’t love the nickname options, [name_f]Ella[/name_f] seems like a stretch
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - like [name_f]Elena[/name_f] better, too similar to keep both
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - no L
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - no L
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] - no L
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]
CUT COMPLETELY
[name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] - too hard to wear, over the top
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] - not as classic as the other names on my list
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] - too short, doesn’t seem as classic
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - too short, moved [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] to middle spot
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] - kept [name_f]Juliana[/name_f], seems too long to be a nickname
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]/[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], don’t like nn [name_u]Gabby[/name_u]
I would love to keep hearing your thoughts on the names individually, how the top 8 work as sisters, your thoughts on the “L” theme, and your favorite first/middle combos. Thanks!
My favorite combination would be [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Btw L team isn’t over the top but maybe you should think of boy names too. I have a similar theme myself but for z! My sister’s name begins with z and Yaz ends with z. I would love to keep this going on as well but I don’t know what future will bring, I may completely change
@elifsu - I have thought about keeping the L theme with boy names. I have a few that could work, and I’ve also considered choosing a different letter for the boys to share.
Ones that I am recommending but am aware are not on your list but was too tempted to not at least recommend (sorry!!) =
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
Also may I ask why the L thing is a important thing?
I love that way of tying siblings together!
I like these the best
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Lia[/name_f]???
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
@wittyusername103 - The L thing is not super important. I just noticed that most of the names on my list unintentionally had an L in them, so I just thought it was a cute way to tie the names together, or to give them a theme.
It’s your call, so if you only want to keep “l”-related names in your first name list, that’s fine. They’re all very pretty names and it’s a great list.
I think the “L” idea is great: it’s a nice letter (come on, we all have favorites here!) and a good way to make your list uniform without being super obvious.
As for your top eight as sisters, I think you’ve got a strong set: I especially like [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Juliana[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] together. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] are both characters in Twilight, which isn’t inherently negative but people would probably think you did it on purpose.
