[name]How[/name] popular is this name? I understand its unisex but give me another name to compare it to. Like [name]Taylor[/name] for boys and girls,? [name]How[/name] popular to you think it will be in five years?
In 2010 in the US, there were 927 boys name [name]Rowan[/name] and 606 girls, so they’re pretty even. [name]Taylor[/name], on the other hand is way more popular for girls than for boys. I’m not sure of a good name to compare it with, but if you’re worried about it’s usability for boys, I wouldn’t be concerned. It’s a great name, and there are also a couple of similar names that are in the Top 1000 for boys, as well: [name]Rohan[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name].
Thanks for the reply…I always struggle reading data like that. See to me 927 boys with the name and 606 girls is not close! But msybe itbreally is!
Any names to compare to?
I don’t know that I really have a good comparison… [name]Casey[/name] maybe? I don’t know. To me, [name]Rowan[/name] sounds like a boys name, especially given its similarity to [name]Rohan[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name], which are both on the boys list, as well. I have never met a male or a female with the name, and it really doesn’t seem to be that popular yet. The only prominent bearer that really comes to mind is comedian [name]Rowan[/name] Atkinson.
I don’t see [name]Rowan[/name] getting incredibly popular or anything, nothing like [name]Jacob[/name] or [name]Isabella[/name]. I really like the name, it always reminds me of nature and trees. I’ve seen it on a boy and a girl, so no problems there. I’ve also seen it spelled [name]Roan[/name]
