Rowan?

I have really been loving [name]Rowan[/name] lately. Can [name]Rowan[/name] work with the names in my signature or is it too unisex? Could [name]Clara[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], and [name]Rowan[/name] be sisters or does [name]Rowan[/name] stick out like a sore thumb?

I don’t think it fits the best, but [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] work fine.

[name]Rowan[/name] feels too masculine when paired with classics like [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name].

I think it fits nicely but my strongest association is of a gorgeous [name]Rowan[/name] I knew in school and her siblings were [name]Celeste[/name], [name]Timothy[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Amelia[/name].

I love [name]Rowan[/name]… [name]Love[/name] love love!!!

[name]Rowan[/name] is in my top 3 favorites for girls, so even if it does stick out compared to [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Clara[/name], I say “who cares!?”. I would use it anyway.

With that sibset, I’d use it for a boy. I like nature names on boys, though.

I prefer [name]Rowena[/name] or Rowenna for a girl, or [name]Rose[/name].

[name]Rowan[/name] is getting a bit tired for me. It’s pretty, don’t get me wrong, but this unisex trend seems overdone. Sorry, but I like other names in your signature MUCH better.

It’s really masculine and is definitely out of place

I like [name]Rowan[/name] a lot on a boy. Not my style on a girl, and I have to say it sticks out with [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. If I heard the names [name]Clara[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], and [name]Rowan[/name] I would definitely assume [name]Rowan[/name] was a boy. I love [name]Rowena[/name] for a girl.

I like the other names in your signature much better! There are so many beautiful girls’ names… I am not a big fan of unisex names for girls…

Thanks for all the opinions I just can’t decide if I love it enough to keep it with the other names or not. Unfortunately I really dislike [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] for a boy but that would make it much easier :frowning:

It doesn’t really flow well with [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], if you’re planning on using it for a girl, but I think it’d be just fine for a boy.

Despite the fact that I [name]DO[/name] like [name]Rowan[/name] on a girl (reminds me of the rowan tree and the mythology attached to it) - I would assume that [name]Rowan[/name] was a boy in that sibset because the other girls have super girly, more traditional names.

I love [name]Rowan[/name] and it fits fine.

I am also, to be honest, not totally convinced of how important it is for siblings to coordinate. Why not name your kids [name]David[/name], [name]Bartholomew[/name], [name]Jessica[/name], and [name]Opal[/name]? I actually think it’s kinda cool when the styles are a little off. But that’s just me.

I agree - I don’t think it’s a huge deal. I used to think so, but then I entered into a mixed family and because I have step-kids, the overall style is out of my control and I guess that made me realize that it’s not actually very important and it’s more important to use names you love over names that “go” together.
