So I was wondering since I have heard the name [name]Rowena[/name] pronounced both (Row-ee-na) and (Row-en-a) which is the correct way of saying it if there is one way of saying the name.
I would naturally pronounce it Row-ee-na.
I would pronounce it Row-en-a… maybe it’s a regional thing?
I would pronounce it Row-en-ah and it’s simple [name]Rowen[/name] with an [name]AH[/name] sound at the end. But every where I look says it’s supposed to be Row-ee-nah.
Due to the languages I speak, I naturally go for row-AY-na, though I believe the correct version is Row-EE-na, historically.
I’m in Australia and have never heard anything but row-EE-nuh. I think it makes more sense, phonetically - row-EN-uh seems like it needs a double ‘n’.
