Roxie as a sister for Ellis and Cora?

Thoughts? Our other favorite for a girl is [name_f]Lena[/name_f], but I’m worried that it’s too close to [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. Also, [name_f]Cora[/name_f]'s middle name is [name_f]Luna[/name_f], which is way too similar to [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. So, [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Roxie[/name_f]? We’re open to other suggestions, too! Thanks

I think [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] works ok with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] but [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] nn [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] fits better stylistically imo since [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] is more nicknamey than [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are.

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are both great names, and they are also pretty different from each other, so I like [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] for being yet another style. I actually find [name_f]Lena[/name_f] too close to [name_f]Cora[/name_f] more so than [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] (though I see that too). [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] would both work OK too, and I do like full names more than nn’s as names, although [name_f]Roxie[/name_f]'s OK.

Trying to think what else I might suggest…
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lena[/name_f]/[name_f]Leni[/name_f])
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and [name_f]Leni[/name_f] (sort of combining [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f]? I think it’s more distant from [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f])
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] nn [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]

[name_f]Roxie[/name_f] is very spunky. However I think it may be one of those names that is fabulous on a little girl, great on teenager, less so on a full grown woman. I’d give her the option of a full name like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]. But if [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] feels right to you that is all that matters!

Personally I like [name_f]Lena[/name_f] better. It at once seems like a surfer girl, and a doctor. It has a lot of personality and seems to fit better with [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. I’d also suggest since you have a Greek theme going with [name_f]Cora[/name_f], perhaps [name_f]Leda[/name_f] might be another option for you?

Congratulations! Good look on what ever you decide!

I have to say I prefer [name_f]Lena[/name_f], I think it works well with the other two, while [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] feels like a very different name to me, too different.

I like the suggestion of [name_f]Leda[/name_f]… It means happy!

Other ideas: [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f].

I love it. I think it sounds great.

I prefer [name_f]Lena[/name_f] with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. The similarities are not deal-breakers for me. I may pronounced [name_f]Lena[/name_f] different from you. I say it the European way “[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-nuh” not “[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-nuh”. [name_f]Roxie[/name_f]/[name_f]Roxy[/name_f] really isn’t in the same class as [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. Many exotic dancers take this name for their stage name. [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] would be a better choice.

Completely agree that [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] is great for a young girl, until about 25, when she starts applying for serious jobs. Great name for an artist, musician, etc., not a surgeon, lawyer, etc. Maybe you have an artistic family and she’s bound to head that way anyway?

Personally, I admit I do judge doctor’s name when I choose. :x
