Thoughts on the name Roz?

I think it’s a funky nickname for Rosalind, [name_f]Rosenwyn[/name_f] or Rozenn, but it feels a little abrupt for a full name to me.

To me it sounds like a casual nickname for Rosalind. Like Cath for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or something. As a full name, it’s not my style.

I think of someone strong, glamorous, funny with biting humor - like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] Russell. And I think of [name_f]Roz[/name_f] the character from [name_m]Frasier[/name_m] - her full name was Rosalinda. I like it best as a nickname.

I went to school with a girl named [name_f]Rozlyn[/name_f] who went solely by Roz. I think it can be fun and spunky, (though the one I know had issues with people calling her or mishearing her name as ‘Ross’). Personally I like it best as a nickname

I think it’s a great nickname! I especially love it for Roslyn/Rozlyn or Rosamund/Rosamonde. Although a pleasant sound, I agree it might throw people off as a full name. I’d love to be called Roz, but I’d certainly want a longer name to fall back on when need be.

i prefer roz as a nickname. i think of the character in monsters inc

I think it could be a cool, clunky nickname for Rosalind. It reminds me of [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] in that regard.
