Roza...Thoughts/Impressions?

[name_m]Will[/name_m] be TTC in a few months and just discovered this version of [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]. I like it, DH is not a fan.

[name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce [name_f]Roza[/name_f]? RAH-zuh, or ROH-zuh?
What are your impressions of the name?
Does it look pretty?

I like that the countries of origin are [name_f]Russia[/name_f] and Poland and when reading through the name description about notable people with the name I noticed a lot of strong, bada** amazing women among them.
I like [name_f]Roza[/name_f] better than [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], because the thing that turned me off about [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is the “s” sound, and I feel more people will pronounce [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] with an s sound rather than a z sound like in the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f], which I prefer.

I super appreciate your input, [name_f]TIA[/name_f] berries!

I’m not a fan, sorry. It looks so harsh, and I wouldn’t assume it was pronounce it the same as [name_f]Rosa[/name_f].

It’s also a colloquial/semi-derogatory term for the police… sooo… not the best.

It’s not my style, but I can see the appeal. I’d probably pronounce it RAH-zuh.

ROH-zuh Is how I would pronounce. I like the sound and written out I think it is nice. A feminine middle name or ultra masculine would be my choice. If you like it go for it. It’s unique but not weird. Easy to say but may need to be spelled once in a while ( most names do now. )

I could see

[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_u]Blaize[/name_u]
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] pearl
roza gazelle
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_f]Marcell[/name_f]

Random but fun to think about middle names.
[name_f]Roza[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]

I pronounce [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] as [name_f]Roe[/name_f]-zah rather than [name_f]Roe[/name_f]-sa…I’ve never heard it pronounced w/an ess before. I’m from the US & mostly have lived in the Northeast, if that’s any help.

As far as [name_f]Roza[/name_f] goes, I prefer the look of [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] & pronounce them the same, but I don’t think that [name_f]Roza[/name_f]'s unusable…just not my style.

I love the name [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]! It’s stunning. I pronounce it [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-zuh (same pronounciation for [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] and [name_f]Roza[/name_f]). I’m so familiar with [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] that seeing [name_f]Roza[/name_f] is a little strange to me. However, if you have Russian or Polish heritage, I think you should go with [name_f]Roza[/name_f].

I’d pronounce it the same way I pronounce [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] - [name_f]RO[/name_f]-zuh. I think I prefer [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] but don’t mind [name_f]Roza[/name_f]. I would worry though that people less into name origins than me (which is to say, most people outside of name nerd forums) would mistakenly judge me for trying to give [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] a “unique” spelling.

I would pronounce [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] and [name_f]Roza[/name_f] the same - ‘roe-zuh’. I love [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], and [name_f]Roza[/name_f] is a cool alternative!

I would pronounce it the same as [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] (ROH-zuh in my accent). I think it’s a nice name but I prefer the [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] spelling in English since that’s how most people (in English-speaking countries) are going to assume it’s spelled.

Not a fan, only because I wouldn’t know how to pronounce it at first sight. FWIW, I think most people (in English speaking countries) pronounce [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] with the Z sound much more often than the S.

I pronounce both Roh-zah. Both are very cool & feminine while still being very strong! I wouldn’t use though only because your DH isn’t a fan, which would be a total turnoff for me.
