My husband and I have been having a hard time agreeing on a name we both love. He hates my favorite, [name_m]Felix[/name_m], but has resigned to [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], which I also love. The other day we were looking at names when I jumbled together ‘[name_m]Ruben[/name_m]’ and ‘[name_m]Felix[/name_m]’ and thought it said Rubix. We both really loved this made-up name at first and he still does, but now I’m hesitant. The “Rubik’s cube” association is inevitable, but I suppose there are worse things to be associated with. I love how unique it is but I’m afraid it might be just a little too crazy. Any thoughts?
My first thought was the cube. I guess it isn’t awful, but that is literally the only thing Rubix is associated with. If you both like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], I think that is a much better choice for you guys. “[name_u]Unique[/name_u]” isn’t always as great as people think it is. I’m sorry.
I think Rubix might be a little too unique, and most people’s first reaction would be “oh, like the cube?”. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] would probably be the better choice.
Thanks guys, I can feel much better about crossing it off the list now. I was only giving it so much thought because my husband likes it so much, I just wish he loved [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] too!
Definitely use [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] for your son and Rubix for a pet.
