Ruby, Cora, Isla?

[name]Hi[/name] all, trying to come up with girl name for little one coming in a few weeks. Big sister’s name is [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]. I’m looking for something with an “old-fashioned cool” factor, like [name]Ivy[/name]. Middle name will most likely be [name]Kandice[/name], in honor of my late mother. Any other ideas? I would prefer to stay away from unisex names and other plant names. Also, last name starts with O and ends in -en so probably no -en names either ([name]Rowan[/name], etc).

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
Others?

Thanks!
[name]Haley[/name]

I adore [name]Cora[/name], and it’s not as overdone as [name]Ruby[/name] but more classic than [name]Isla[/name]. It’s a beautiful name!

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Haley[/name]!

First of all, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]!

I adore all of these names, too! They all work well with [name]Kandice[/name] as a middle name. However, [name]Isla[/name] doesn’t feel as “old fashioned” as the others, and the it’s kind of matchy with [name]Ivy[/name]… [name]Ruby[/name] is lovely as well, but both [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] are two-syllable word names that end in Y, so it might not work as well. My vote is for [name]Cora[/name]!

Others with [name]Ivy[/name]:
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]*
[name]Adeline[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Celia[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]*
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]-- but it also ends in Y…
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]*
[name]Helena[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]*
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Stella[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]*
[name]Sylvia[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]

Since you seem to like two-syllable names, I starred those. However, some of those ([name]Celia[/name], [name]Dorothy[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name]) have two OR three depending on how they’re pronounced ([name]SEEL[/name]-ya/[name]SEEL[/name]-ee-ya, [name]DORE[/name]-thee/[name]DORE[/name]-uh-thee, LID-ya/LID-ee-ya, SILV-ya/[name]SIL[/name]-vee-a).

Good luck!

I like [name]Cora[/name] best, but I’m not sure it flows with [name]Kandice[/name] as well. If that isn’t a problem for you, that would be my choice!

I think definitely [name]Cora[/name]! [name]Isla[/name] is [name]WAY[/name] too close too [name]Ivy[/name] ([name]Ivy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is gorgeous, by the way) and feels more trendy. I’ve never been that big of a fan of [name]Ruby[/name], and I think [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] are matchy together. [name]Cora[/name] seems perfect with [name]Ivy[/name].

[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Calla[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Mira[/name]

[name]Cora[/name] [name]Kandice[/name] is my favourite

(-:

You have great taste in names! [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is beautiful. I love the name [name]Caroline[/name], but it doesn’t sound great with my last name so I can’t use it. [name]Cora[/name] is actually the name I plan to use if my baby is a girl, and [name]Isla[/name] was considered for this baby and for my daughter. I also love [name]Ruby[/name], but my husband doesn’t.

Although [name]Cora[/name] is my favorite, I think I like [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kandice[/name] better than [name]Cora[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]. I agree with others that [name]Isla[/name] is a bit close to [name]Ivy[/name]. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these options, though. Great choices!

[name]Hi[/name]! I love all 3 of these names!!
I think that [name]Cora[/name] is nice with [name]Ivy[/name], not so popular a name like [name]Ruby[/name], but I don’t know if I like [name]Cora[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]. I think the alliteration with the hard k sound is a bit much for me. BUT it’s not like you call your child by their full name. This would be my pick.
[name]Ruby[/name] is getting very popular, and [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] have the same y ending. I do like [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kandice[/name] though. I would feel like I had to use another y ending name for any future children.
[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] sound very similar, I’m not sure if they are too close. [name]Isla[/name] [name]Kandice[/name] sounds good. I wouldn’t rule out using [name]Isla[/name], but I would then feel like I’d have to use another i name for any future children, especially girls, and I can’t think of an i name that I like with [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Isla[/name], probably because they sound so similar.
God luck!!

Thanks for the input. I agree that [name]Isla[/name] may be too close to [name]Ivy[/name], I’m also worried that it will be pronounced wrong most of the time. I agree that [name]Ruby[/name] may be getting too popular too but I still like it, especially since the baby will most likely be born in [name]July[/name].

Is [name]Cora[/name] becoming too popular?

Thanks for the other input, I actually tried a bunch of these on my husband–[name]Clara[/name] (my grandmother’s name which I would love to use), [name]Georgia[/name], and [name]Hazel[/name], but he just laughed at me. I’ve also mentioned [name]Priscilla[/name] (my other grandmother) but my daycare lady thinks it’s too ethnic.

I like [name]Isla[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
also these are nice)

[name]Molly[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Renne[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Rosie[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Nicole[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Bella[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]May[/name] [name]Candice[/name]
[name]Allie[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Coco[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]
[name]Kloe[/name] [name]Kandice[/name]

As a mother of a [name]Cora[/name], I have to admit this is my favorite. I agree with the other posters that it might not flow well with [name]Kandice[/name] though. All of your choices are beautiful! And as for [name]Cora[/name]'s popularity, I have run into one other [name]Cora[/name] in my daughter’s 4 years. I wouldn’t worry too much about it being too popular or trendy.
