I’m liking the name [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] lately. Is it useable in real life though or just a guilty pleasure name. Thoughts?
Weird, I’ve been thinking about this one too! I’ve always liked it, but I know it’s not too popular on here because it’s so “starbaby” (albeit all grown-up now).
I’d say usable, and [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] is a sweet nickname which I suspect may gain at least slightly in popularity for girls following the birth of Beyoncé’s daughter. As long as you don’t mind the celebrity connections, they’re both lovely names to me!
I’m not too worried about the celebrity connection as much as I am about the similarity with the word rumor.
[name_f]Rumi[/name_f] is cute but [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] is unusable
GP only I think, unless nn [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] is used most of the time. [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] is adorable and my first association is [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] Godden - but everyone else in the world is definitely going to think “rumor”… not usable for everyday life. But if [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] is very meaningful for parents then of course it can be given officially, with [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] used for everyday.
