I am really running out of time. I cannot find any name for my little girl that is due [name_u]June[/name_u] 10th! 5 days away!
I don’t want a name that is popular…I want her to have a name that will make people go, “Oh, I’ve never heard of that one before”, or “That’s unique”, “that’s really cool”, or something like that.
I love the names [name_u]Dove[/name_u], [name_f]Snow[/name_f], [name_u]Scout[/name_u], and [name_u]Story[/name_u] “Stor”, but I think I shouldn’t go with word names. [name_f]My[/name_f] mother wouldn’t like that. Also “Stor” sounds so badass, which I love, but I fear it sounds too close to “thor”, and I don’t like thor.
I also like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] very much, but it since it’s also a food I’m afraid that someone will look at it like another “apple”.
I feel like I’ve seen and heard of every name there is. Can you please suggest an unusual name that you wouldn’t expect many other girls to have?
Word names that have some history of name usage probably wouldn’t shock your family:
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Blossom[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_u]Ever[/name_u]
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
To get to Stor/[name_u]Story[/name_u] (I don’t think it sounds like [name_m]Thor[/name_m] at all. I’d never make the connection, though I would think of “store,” like where you buy stuff)
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f]
I think [name_u]Scout[/name_u] can work as a nickname for basically any name. If you have a name you adore, I think your mom can deal with it.
I think most people know [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a name so I don’t think most people would look at it like naming her [name_f]Apple[/name_f] or Pear.
You have some great names on your list - if those are the ones you love, I’d narrow it from there.
You typically need to have thick skin if you are going with an
unusual name. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is pretty mainstream compared to quite a few choices I’ve heard lately. Here are a few suggestions:
Or you could do traditional boys names like
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
[name_f]Ryann[/name_f]
[name_m]Logann[/name_m]
[name_u]Shaun[/name_u]
[name_u]Daryn[/name_u]
Or mythological
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Demeter[/name_u]
Your mother will get used to whatever name you chose.
Suggestions for something a bit different:
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Juna[/name_f], [name_f]Junia[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]
[name_f]India[/name_f], [name_f]Indigo[/name_f], [name_f]Indira[/name_f] - [name_f]Indie[/name_f]
[name_f]Deja[/name_f]
[name_f]Aviana[/name_f], [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], [name_f]Avalyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f], Novalee
[name_u]Ocean[/name_u]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
Soliela
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] nn story. What about [name_f]Clemency[/name_f]/[name_f]Clementina[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]?
We named our baby girl, born in [name_u]December[/name_u], [name_u]Reeve[/name_u] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. We love our choice! It’s unusual but it sounds unisex and classic, in my opinion
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] would be very sweet and not to weird at all… I also love the suggestion of [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] with Stor as a nick name.
