Husband and I are really struggling to decide between the two, I love them both so much and keep yo-yoing between them!
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] - I love the [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] bear connection, all of our favourite names are quite literary. I love that it’s classic but you don’t hear it everyday. Really love the nickname Roo.
[name_u]Arthur[/name_u] - I love the way this name sounds and that it means “bear” because they are my favourite animals. We love the connection with Arthurian legend and how strong and classic but still soft and gentle sounding it is. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nicknames [name_u]Artie[/name_u] and [name_m]Art[/name_m].
So what do you think Berries?
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] or [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]?
I think they’re both great!! I slightly lean more towards [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] because of [name_u]Artie[/name_u], but i really love both and i don’t think you can go wrong either way.
I love love [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]! [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] feels a bit more stiff and formal to me, while [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is warm and bright.
I’m vary biased because [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is my top boys combo, so that has to get my vote. I live in the UK, and [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is getting very popular, but I’m not sure about it’s popularity elsewhere.
[name_f]My[/name_f] eldest is called [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], so that obviously has my vote. Although in [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] I’m struggling a bit with the -r- sound in the middle: [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] ends in -r- and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] starts with -r-. It’s not like you would say his full name very often though, so perhaps that doesn’t matter.
This is what I’m worried about with [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], it seems to be everywhere at the moment, it’s becoming very popular which annoys me haha but I still love it soooo much…
I hadn’t thought of that! I dont usually pronounce the R at the end of [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] so it hadn’t really occurred to me before, but I guess it might be something that annoys me in the future depending on who’s saying it! It’s a very good point. Arthur’s such a gorgeous name, you have great taste
