What do you think of the name [name]Rupert[/name] for a boy?
Thanks, [name]Rachel[/name]
I really love the idea of this name. I’m not sure I could execute it well. I’m from the States and I just don’t feel like I give it the umpf it requires.
It reminds me both of the bear and of [name]Rupert[/name] Grint, the latter being the reason it has grown on me, since I just think he’s adorable.
I do think it’s a great alternative to [name]Robert[/name].
I live in the States and I know someone named [name]Rupert[/name]. We call him Rup most of the time. He is very funny and really smart. He is my only assoication with the name so I like it!
I forgot to mention, the nickname Ru would be too cute.
Personally, I think I like it. It has an upper-crust (though potentially stuffy?) British vibe a la [name]Giles[/name], [name]Nigel[/name], or [name]Basil[/name].
[name]Love[/name] [name]Rupert[/name]!

Are you referring to the bear on Family [name]Guy[/name]? That’s what I think of when I hear “[name]Rupert[/name].” I think it’s a great name, though!
OH YEAH! Is that the name of the [name]Bear[/name] on Family [name]Guy[/name]? I was thinking of the old cartoon (I don’t think I ever actually watched it but I know of it. Same with Babar…) with a white bear with I’m guessing an English accent.
Anyway, still like [name]Rupert[/name].
I like it way better than [name]Robert[/name], but [name]Rupert[/name] has the unfortunate association with [name]Rupert[/name] Murdoch, who I despise. [name]Rupert[/name] Grint is a better association, though I don’t like [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name].
