We are very much liking [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] for a hypothetical baby brother to big sister, [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u]. We were thinking we could use nicknames Roo and/or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]. What do you think of [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and his nicknames?
Other names we like are [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], [name_u]Walter[/name_u] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] (Frederick). A second girl would likely be named [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Isadora[/name_f].
Any middle name ideas for [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]?
A youtuber I really like just had a baby named [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and she has a puppy named [name_u]Walter[/name_u], but both of her Rupert’s middles are family names so I don’t think that would work.
I am not sure where you live. In Northern CA, where I live, [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], [name_u]Walter[/name_u], or [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] would be better received than [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], and definitely better than Roo or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u], unless those are just at-home nicknames. In [name_f]England[/name_f] it might be very different.
I love [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] but I think it’s a bit harsh for your sibset. (I prefer [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] as a nn)
I feel like [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] goes better with [name_f]Esther[/name_f] (and Sylvia/Sylvie)
I personally really dislike Rupert, but I find the nickname Roo very cute ,I absolutely love [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] ,especially with [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u]
I love Rupert, especially with Esther (and Sylvie)! I think Roo and Bertie are great nicknames and work well.
Middle name ideas:
Rupert Alasdair
Rupert Ambrose
Rupert Arthur
Rupert Barnaby
Rupert Bingham
Rupert Edmund
Rupert Felix
Rupert Finnegan
Rupert George
Rupert Magnus
Rupert Phineas
Rupert Winfield
I also really like Reuben, Walter, and Freddie. I do prefer Rupert to Reuben even if it’s just because Rupert is a bit more fresh and uncommon.
I really like [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]! The nickname Roo is cute. [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] makes less sense to me, as there is no B in [name_m]Rupert[/name_m].
I also agree that it depends on where you live! I much prefer [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], [name_u]Walter[/name_u], and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] if it is here in the States. [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] nn [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] is my favorite paired with [name_f]Esther[/name_f] (and Sylvie).
I love, love [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], and love nicknames Ru and [name_u]Bertie[/name_u], and love it for a brother for [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u]! I much prefer [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] over [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. I quite like [name_u]Walter[/name_u], and like Frederick/Freddie.
I love Rupert… sucha guilty pleasure name that i’m jealous of any that get to use it. I do like [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] but where [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is already biblical obvious I’d avoid [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] personally where youre next child would be a [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. [name_u]Walter[/name_u] and [name_m]Fredrick[/name_m] would also make great names for your sibset… i sense a vintage 20’s vibe all around.
