[name_u]Love[/name_u] the sound and actually think this is a great name, but I am not American and don’t have any associations with it, besides the band. The description is definitely not positive on Nameberry. Is this name usable?
I mean… it can work but I don’t see the meaning as an impressive one
Not my favourite, but it could work as a nickname maybe?
I associate it with the band and the plant!
I really like Rush. I don’t know how usable it is but I adore the sound and I think it totally works as a middle. I have [name_m]Septimus[/name_m] [name_u]Cato[/name_u] [name_m]Rush[/name_m] on my long UC
[name_m]Rush[/name_m] is a big YES for me!
I think [name_m]Rush[/name_m] is cool! I adore the band association
I am American and definitely do have a negative association with it. I’ve only ever seen it used as a name in the context of that person.
That said, you’re not American and don’t have the negative association, so I think if you like it, go for it. I think it’d be an interesting middle, personally
[name_m]Rush[/name_m] is pretty cool If [name_u]Dash[/name_u] can work, I can see [name_m]Rush[/name_m] working
i love Rush! i think of the Melendy Quartet before Limbaugh.
It would probably be better as a nickname or middle name. It doesn’t sound quite right as a standalone first.
I agree with greyblue, it sounds just as cool as [name_u]Dash[/name_u], it’s just that the former is a bit more established.
It definitely works though.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I still like it! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband isn’t that into it but he’s not really into any name…
i think rush makes a really cool nickname, and would also totally work as a first
i don’t know who rush limbaugh is (i’m in the uk) and i also don’t associate it with the band. i just think of speed, like i’m in a rush
I like it
I like it maybe as a middle? It reminds me of [name_u]August[/name_u] Rush—I love that film! But I agree it’s probably not the best up front? I think something like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Rush[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Rush[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Rush[/name_m] or something would be very handsome!
Yeah, Rush as a first name makes me physically ill. But I’m also in the US and wouldn’t think negatively if someone outside the US used this name (within the US, I would definitely think negatively of them, sorry, this guy is truly one of the worst)
I would never use it, personally, but it does have an appealing sound.
Although born in the US, I’ve lived in a few other countries, and people there know of [name_m]Rush[/name_m] Limbaugh and it’s just way too negative of a namesake for me. Have you thought about Ruskin? Maybe with the nickname Rush?
Hmmm kinda makes me think of drugs
As an American, my first thought goes to [name_m]Rush[/name_m] Limbaugh, which is not a good association.
[name_m]Rush[/name_m] seems perfectly usable. I’m American but [name_m]Rush[/name_m] Limbaugh doesn’t bother me.
i guess it works? i think of big time rush (a decade-old band) first, not a horrible association, although i prefer it as a middle or a nickname
