Yesterday, I went on a mission to start of my 2019 naming year with names I’ve never had on my list before. My list ended up looking like this:
Girls: [name_u]March[/name_u], [name_u]Bright[/name_u], [name_u]Bliss[/name_u], Haddie, [name_f]Delta[/name_f], and [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
Boys: [name_u]Mickey[/name_u], [name_m]Clarence[/name_m], [name_u]Harley[/name_u], [name_u]Lane[/name_u], [name_m]Cotton[/name_m], and [name_u]Bailey[/name_u].
I’m really liking all of the names, but I seem to be enjoying the word names the best. [name_m]Cotton[/name_m], [name_u]Bright[/name_u], and [name_u]Bliss[/name_u] being my top three, with Haddie and [name_u]Harley[/name_u] being second runner’s up. Anyways, the point to this ramble is that I would really like some more rustic/Southern, sort of uncommon, chic names for my boy list. Not necessarily word names, but just more [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and [name_u]Bliss[/name_u] feeling than [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] or [name_u]Mickey[/name_u].
So, what names would you add to the list? And what names would you add to your own list for 2019?
Oh, [name_m]Gable[/name_m] is very handsome! Reminiscent of [name_m]Clark[/name_m] [name_m]Gable[/name_m]. [name_u]River[/name_u] is also really lovely, and would absolutely have been on my list, if not for it being a little to “trendy” right now. Perhaps I should reconsider, though.
I’m gonna get a little literary and suggest names from [name_m]Faulkner[/name_m]'s lexicon:
[name_m]Quentin[/name_m]
[name_u]Holland[/name_u]
[name_m]Boon[/name_m]
Shreve
[name_m]Bayard[/name_m]
Thank you, all! So many great suggestions. [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] [name_m]Gable[/name_m] is a combo that came to mind, although I always get stuck on a nickname for [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]. [name_m]Hawk[/name_m] is really cool, but I suppose it’s only two syllables, so it doesn’t really need a nickname at all. I love [name_u]Holland[/name_u] and [name_m]Boone[/name_m], as well as a whole slew of others!
