Rusty short for…

Husband and I cannot agree on boy names for anything, but [name_m]Rusty[/name_m] came up, and we both quite like it!

We actually like [name_m]Rusty[/name_m] on its own and might just go with that for incoming baby, but wanted to ask for ideas for a longer full name with the nickname [name_m]Rusty[/name_m].

The two obvious choices - we both like but have close-ish friends with the names, and so they’re off limits: [name_m]Rustin[/name_m] and [name_m]Russel[/name_m].

Any other ideas for longer boy names nn [name_m]Rusty[/name_m]?

[name_m]Rusty[/name_m] is fun. [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought is [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] but other names ending in ‘rus’ could work as well such as [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] or [name_m]Jairus[/name_m].

There’s also [name_m]Ruslan[/name_m] but that is likely too similar to [name_m]Rustin[/name_m].

I would personally go for [name_m]Rusty[/name_m] as the full name. The nickname [name_m]Russ[/name_m] adds flexibility.

Me again! I wanted to add that perhaps you could go with the colour association in Rusty, and use a name which contains the meaning of red? This would give some more familiar options, such as:

I like Rusty as a nickname. Cyrus Antony/Timothy, Timothy Russ/Ross, Rufus Ty/Timothy?
