What are your opinions on the name [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] “[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]” and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] “[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]”?
Would you rather have their first names or middle names be [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]? I just worry that they are too cutesy as an adult name to grow into. Let me know if there is another way to get to [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] “[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]” is super clever! I like it. I really think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] wears well on an adult; it’s [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] that might seems a little cutesy and hard to grow with to me. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] “[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]” certainly works, though.
Now that I think of it, allow me to suggest [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] as sister names. I don’t know how you like that, but just an option.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is such a good idea! I’m also not a big fan of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] but I do like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. I love the suggestion of [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] nn [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] but it does seem a bit grand next to [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] lol. I think I’d prefer [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] “[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]” with [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] “[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]”.
I wouldn’t worry about a name being too cutesy. As she grows up, her name will grow with her.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are both charming! They give various nn options to suit different types of people
That said, given the popularity of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], I don’t think it would look out of place on an adult of their generation
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is wonderful. I actually prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]–and I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] works fine for an adult.
I know adult Rubys and Poppys and don’t think they’re at all too cutesy for an adult! In saying that, [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are lovely names, but I do prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] to [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] in particular. I especially like [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] as a combination so I think it would be a shame to use [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] (if you were to use [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]).
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: Something just occurred to me, which is that [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] sort of looks like Palmolive. Doesn’t really matter though, just something that hit me all of a sudden!
I think both [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] will age well especially as they are both being used for children born in this generation so the names will grow with the children. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] them as a sibset but would go straight to [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] rather than use it as a nickname for [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. I would always choose the name that she will be using as her legal name, (providing it is an established name) as having a legitimate, known name but going by another would cause confusion in my opinion.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is wonderful and so creative! Although I actually think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] works better on all ages wheras [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is very outdated and I can’t imagine a little [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]/[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are both so wonderful too. I agree that [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is much to cutesy for an adult.
