[name]How[/name] do we feel about [name]Ruth[/name]? It’s a favourite Aunt’s name (actually, one on each side). I’ve always been fond of it, but I am not sure if it’s because it’s a nice name or because I just like the person who wears it.
Thoughts?
I love it so much!!! Its timeless!!

I think it’s a beautiful name!

I like it. I would be nice in a middle spot too!
It’s gorgeous. And I think the nn [name]Ruthie[/name] is adorable. Because [name]Ruth[/name] does have just a hint of fustiness, I’d suggest pairing it with a more modern/unusual middle – [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Winter[/name], [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Holland[/name].
It’s nice and I’d be pleasantly surprised to see it on a little girl, especially among all “unique or creative” names people take so many pains to come up with. We have gone so far away from what I would call “standard” names that to have a fairly standard name as a kid today stands out more than all the unique and creative names put together. That being said, I’m not a huge fan of [name]Ruth[/name] myself. I think it’s the “th” ending along with short one syllable that comes across very harsh sounding to me. But I like it way better than most of the names people give their kids these days, so I give it a thumbs up!
I love [name]Ruth[/name], and I think the nickname [name]Ruthie[/name] is adorable. Reminds me of “7th [name]Heaven[/name]”
It was my mom’s name. It’s the name I’m planning on using for my daughter, so I am bias obviously, I like the name. It’s normal to have a positive association with a name if you knew or know someone who had/has that name and you were/are fond of them. It also helps that in this case it is actually a good name, it has a lovely meaning.
I’ve noticed it showing up more as a middle name in the local birth announcements in my neck of the woods, but I’ve yet to see it listed as a first name since I’ve been checking the paper. Since it’s a short name, I’d pair it with a longer name to balance it out.
I like it and the nn [name]Rue[/name]/Roo
