Ryam

[name]Hi[/name] everyone - I’m new to this forum  I’m not expecting, but hope to be within the next year, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about names.

I just recently stumbled across the name “Ryam” - and I haven’t been able to find a meaning anywhere so I’m assuming it’s made up. I like the name for it’s sound, and how it goes with my last name, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about it so I’m wondering what your opinions on it might be? Does it sound “too” made up, or like whoever came up with it was trying too hard?

Appreciate your thoughts - happy Friday!

I haven’t heard of it either. Where did you hear/see about it? Perhaps it was a typo, or indeed just made up.

Ryam looks very made up, and more like a typo than anything, but something like Ryem, Riam, Riem looks more legitimate.

Haha, don’t crucify me, but it was the name of a knight (not a central character) in the A Song of Ice & [name]Fire[/name] novels.

I think you are absolutely right, though, the spellings you gave look much better than the Ryam version in the books!

I think I would assume that it was a typo for Ryan unless it had a different spelling.

I, also would assume it as a typo for [name]Ryan[/name]. Or a mash up of two names. Sorry, not a fan

[name]Bree[/name]

It’s most likely a typo for [name]Ryan[/name].

I suspected it might actually be an [name]Indian[/name] name. I can’t find good evidence of that, though it appears to be a Sanskrit word.
